ALSO and CANCOM support new IT course of study at the Hochschule Augsburg

ALSO and CANCOM are supporting a new part-time course of study for IT project and process management at the Hochschule Augsburg.

"Digitalization poses challenges for society and companies that can only be addressed with the help of professionals. We see a great need for experts who are able to understand and facilitate complex and multi-layered IT processes. The new course of study, ‘IT project and process management’, focuses on the demands of the future related to the Cloud, Big Data, and IoT,” said Gustavo Möller-Hergt, CEO of ALSO Holding AG (SIX: ALSN).

In October 2017, the part-time certificate course for IT project and process management will be launched for the first time at the Hochschule Augsburg. Five ALSO employees, including three from Germany and two from Switzerland, will be among the first students of this course. As part of its commitment, ALSO is also awarding one full scholarship to an employee from the ALSO Network Partner company eyeti systems + solutions GmbH & Co. KG. The Hochschule Augsburg will also welcome six employees from its supporter CANCOM for the first year of the new course.

“It is important to us to offer our employees professional advancement opportunities that will help them to tackle the challenges of the future. Given our experience from many client projects, we understand that rising IT demands for companies entail development opportunities for skilled employees against the backdrop of digitalization,” Rudolf Hotter, COO of CANCOM SE, explained the company’s commitment.

The aim of the certificate course is to train participants in the design, implementation and evaluation of complex IT processes and architectures. Practical and implementation skills constitute the core of the program. Concrete project work and case studies also form an integral part of the studies. With an additional semester, participants with a bachelor’s degree have the opportunity to continue on to earn a Master of Science.

"We want to offer experienced IT specialists as well as bachelor’s graduates the opportunity to equip themselves to confront the growing challenges of networked operations. In doing so, we will work closely with innovative companies that want to offer their high-potential employees development opportunities beyond those offered within their firms,” explained Prof. Dr. Clemens Espe, Chief Information Officer and Professor of Business Informatics and Project Management at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences.
