Now winning the race

AMD are taking over data centers everywhere. Why? 2nd Gen EPYC processors. These new chips are more than just extra x86 cores, faster memory and speedier PCIe, they are a mind-blowing shift in server technology.

WHAT FEATURES MAKE AMD EPYC SPECIAL?

AMD innovation. CPU microarchitecture on 7nm, up to 64 cores with up to 32 billion transistors, 128 usable lanes of PCIe 4.0 in a single socket (160 in dual socket), 8 memory channels, and unified memory based on chiplets. Nothing compares.

HOW DOES THIS FLY THE DATA CENTER

You’d expect something transformative from a company that holds 140 CPU world records and EPYC doesn’t disappoint.

Top performance

Enterprise applications, virtualized and cloud computing environments, software-defined infrastructure, high-performance computing and data analytic applications - EPYC nearly matches, matches or in most cases beats rival processors on industry benchmarks.

Exeptional Architecture

AMD EPYC has made its I/O die the center of the server – the first step in disaggregating compute, memory and storage. AMD Infinity Architecture now decouples two streams: eight dies for the processor cores, and one I/O die that supports security and communication separate from the processor.

Focused security

AMD EPYC includes built-in security at the silicone level. Processors have the capacity to cryptographically isolate up to 509 virtual machines (VMs) per server using Secure Boot, Secure Memory Encryption (SME) and Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV)

Evidence of Greatness

EVIDENCE OF GREATNESS

AMD and Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team recently announced a new multi-year partnership that will include the use of AMD EPYC server processors to optimize various racing workstreams.

“Innovation is at the heart of Formula One, we always try and push the technological boundaries in our hunt for performance…we are delighted to have AMD as our partner.”

- Toto Wolff, Team Principal and CEO of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team
